Pavia, May 5th, 2026 – SEA Vision, a leading company in the development of machine vision systems for quality control and traceability in the pharmaceutical sector, announces its participation in Interpack, the world’s leading international trade fair for packaging, taking place in Düsseldorf from May 7th to 13th.
SEA Vision’s presence at Interpack represents an important opportunity to showcase significant technological innovations in pharmaceutical inspection, reaffirming the company’s commitment to continuous innovation in inspection, quality, and digitalization processes.

Vision Systems: The New Harlequin
Among the main innovations on display, SEA Vision will introduce the new HQBlister+, the vision system for blister inspection that more than 30 years ago revolutionized the market as a pioneering solution in the pharmaceutical industry.
Today, Harlequin evolves by integrating the most advanced AI technologies, adding to its well-known computing power and blister defect detection capabilities a higher level of flexibility and ease of use—both during configuration and daily operations—thanks to a new AI Wizard, which will be unveiled as a preview at the show.
Thanks to Artificial Intelligence, the new Harlequin HQBlister+ can significantly improve the detection of the most challenging defects, adapt more quickly to product variations, reduce setup complexity, support even less-experienced operators, and increase the overall efficiency of packaging lines.
“Interpack is a strategic showcase to present the evolution of our technologies and share our vision for the future of pharmaceutical quality control,” says Michele Cei, CEO of SEA Vision. “The new Harlequin perfectly represents our approach: enhancing successful, long-standing solutions by making them even easier to use and more effective through new technologies.”
In addition to inspection solutions for solid products, the show will also feature other software currently under development for various pharmaceutical products, such as a system for checking the correct capping of bottles. This solution helps prevent packaging machine deviations, thereby avoiding the rejection of many products. Also on display will be a new character recognition system, completely renewed thanks to the contribution of AI.
Among the vision-related innovations, visitors will also see A‑Eye Lipstick, the innovative AI-based system for lipstick inspection. At its debut in 2023, it ranked first among the best technological innovations at Cosmoprof Hong Kong. Today, it remains a unique solution on the market, capable – thanks to AI algorithms – of recognizing highly challenging defects affecting the quality of products that are notoriously difficult to inspect.
The system learns to discern an ever-growing variety of increasingly complex defects, item by item. Learning is based both on proprietary datasets—a mix of real and synthetic images generated using the most advanced data augmentation and neural generation techniques—and on the combination of different models and parameters observed over time.
Automation: Line Clearance and yudoo
Another key area of innovation on display is A‑Eye Clearance, the new technology developed by SEA Vision based on AI algorithms for automated, faster, and more efficient line clearance processes. By combining innovative software with state-of-the-art hardware components, the solution speeds up the operations required during format changes on packaging lines, shifting from manual processes to paperless and automated workflows. This simplifies and digitalizes line clearance procedures before the start of a production batch or a format change, in accordance with the customer’s SOPs.
The yudoo Digital Platform
It is impossible to talk about Industry 4.0 without mentioning yudoo, the digital platform that connects automation devices, machines, IT, and control systems to manage the entire pharmaceutical production process. At the same time, it collects and analyzes data to transform manufacturing and traceability insights into actions, driving tangible results in terms of OEE improvement.
yudoo includes features for production line management, integration with existing Track & Trace architectures for serialization management, real-time OEE performance analysis, and advanced KPIs based on Business Intelligence tools.
At the fair, SEA Vision will also present new functionalities of the yudoo platform, developed together with customers to digitalize workflows and ensure greater efficiency. These include Work Management, a new feature used to track and manage activities, workflows, and task statuses, digitalizing all processes to monitor efficiency and performance. This allows users to calculate process-centric KPIs, record historical data, compare and analyze trends, make predictions, and take data-driven decisions.
Track & Trace and RFID
A major new development in the field of traceability presented at the show is the integration of RFID technology. Already well known in warehouse environments, RFID is gaining increasing traction in the pharmaceutical industry due to the high flexibility it offers, enabling event tracking of pharmaceutical products without the need for direct line-of-sight data reading.
The ability to read objects at a distance without requiring orientation under cameras represents a major advantage in pharmaceutical environments, including reduced errors, higher speed, and the automation of multiple inspection steps. In aggregation processes, RFID becomes even more critical, as it allows the automatic reading of all syringes placed in a nest and the detection of any foreign objects within a batch, without the need to pass each individual syringe in front of cameras.
Technologies and Services
A completely redesigned user interface and the introduction of new devices—such as wearable scanners and tablets—make interaction with machines even more intuitive, flexible, and ergonomic. On the occasion of Interpack, SEA Vision will present to customers the development path it has embarked on: designing solutions that concretely simplify daily operations.
In a highly regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, innovation must be based on deep knowledge of the specific requirements of individual processes. This is the foundation for developing automation software that increases safety levels and integrates effectively not only with new packaging machines but also with existing ones.
In addition to presenting its technological solutions, SEA Vision will attend Interpack with its Customer Care team, available to engage with customers on all key aspects of after-sales support. This represents an opportunity to explore services, technical support, maintenance, and upgrade programs, with the goal of supporting customers throughout the entire lifecycle of installed solutions and ensuring operational continuity, reliability, and long-term value.
With a strong global presence and solutions adopted by major industrial groups, SEA Vision confirms its role as a leading technology partner for machine builders and pharmaceutical companies, bringing to Interpack a combination of experience, innovation, and a strong customer-focused approach.
